I’m Marquita,
Wife and Mama to Twin Boys
At Marquita’s Travels, I help women travel on their own terms—confidently.
Before my boys were born, I traveled extensively for work, and when I became pregnant, people told me my travels would have to stop.
Instead, I embraced the challenge—my boys took their first flight at four months.
By six months, they had already been to Puerto Rico, Amsterdam, and Paris. Now that they’re in school, we continue to prioritize travel, often making it work within the school year.
Now, at seven years old, they’ve already visited over 10 countries and taken over 55 trips.
Through years of experience traveling to 40+ countries (both with and without my family), I’m proving that motherhood doesn’t have to mean the end of adventure.
My hope is that I can help you do the same by providing the necessary tools and resources to make travel easier.

Although I’ve traveled globally, including all 7 New World Wonders, the vast of my experiences are in the U.S., the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
I’ve spent over a decade living in New Orleans.
I frequently visit Miami (my husband’s hometown).
I’ve explored nearly half of the Caribbean, including multiple trips to Aruba, Puerto Rico, and The Bahamas.
I’ve also visited Brazil several times and provided in-depth guides on these destinations.

Who are The Wrights?
And why do they love travel?
People often assume having kids means pressing pause on travel, but for us, it has become part of our lifestyle. At just six years old, my boys have already traveled to over 10 countries and taken more than 55 trips.
But let’s be real—my boys are just that, boys. They are full of energy, curiosity, and, yes, plenty of challenges. One of my twins has ADHD, so on a normal day, we face our fair share of struggles. They’re not naturally chill kids who just go with the flow.
However, travel is their magic button. After years of exploring, they know the airport routine, what to expect on a plane, and how to adjust to new places—often handling travel days better than most adults.
So, when should you start traveling with your kids? The answer is simple—now.
There will be tough moments, just like there are at home, but the memories you’ll make are worth it. I’ve seen firsthand how travel builds confidence, fosters adaptability, and gives kids a broader view of the world. Even if they don’t remember every trip, I do, and my memories matter too.
